Craftree would like to celebrate our third birthday on our new website and the art of Tatting by honouring the crafters from around the web who inspired us throughout 2016-2017. There are so many wonderful individuals who work hard to create exciting projects that we all find inspiring. Show your appreciation by voting for your favourite project, pattern or designer today.
Nominations open on October 22nd, 2017 and close on November 18th, 2017 (all dates GMT).
The top 5 nominations for each category will go through to the next round of voting.
On Sunday, November 19th, we’ll announce the top 5 finalists from each category. Then, you will have four weeks to vote for those that wowed you the most this past year.
On Sunday December 17th, we’ll announce the winner for each category!
Best Project - Beginner. This award is open to our members who started tatting in 2015 or later. They must have a completed project page on Craftree which includes a photograph of an item which they have finished during 2016-2017.
Best Project - Overall, Tatting. This award is for the best completed tatting project. The project must be listed on Craftree with an image showing the finished work. Project must be completed 2015-2016. This award can include small as well as large projects, beginners or seasoned tatters.
Best Project - Doily. This award is for the best project made using a pattern that is listed in the Craftree database as doily. The project must contain an image of the finished product and must have been completed between 2016-2017.
Best New Pattern. This award is open to any pattern first published 2016-2017 that is listed on Craftree. Pattern listing must contain an image.
Best Overall Pattern. This award is open to any that is listed on Craftree. Pattern listing must contain an image.
Best Tatting Designer. Open to any designer who has a pattern listed in the Craftree database that is marked as first published in 2016-2017. Designer does not have to be a member, although that certainly is lovely if they are!
A free Craftree membership is required to access the nomination forms. Voting in the final round will be open to the general public. You do not need to have a Craftree account in order to vote (although we highly encourage it!)
You can only vote once - we determine voting by IP address, so if there's two of you sharing an internet connection you'll only be counted as one vote. Your most recent vote will override any earlier votes.
Nominees must suit the category they are placed in and fill the criteria given for each individual category. We reserve the right to remove from judging any nomination that does not fit the category description.
Dates are based on Greenwich Mean Time (UK members note that this is not British Summer Time)
Each Craftree Award winner will receive:
- A Craftree Award Winner badge to wear proudly on their blog or website
- Winners will be featured in an announcement post on the Craftree site, providing great exposure
