Here is a link to my blog about the first project I am working on from this book. http://goo.gl/hGBQgP. I have also completed smaller medallions from this book, most took less than 2 hours!
I really like this book. It was reasonably priced, and well presented. It uses beginner techniques in intermediate ways, challenging but not impossible.
As with many tatting books (Lynn Morton springs to mind), Lindsay has certain design elements she likes, and shows you how to use them in a number of ways; for example as book marks or variations, including edgings for round or square fabric. This book rates high on my 'creative application of basic techniques' o'meter. I am enjoying tatting these patterns, the joins are well placed and not awkward to make. These are also smaller projects they are easily done in one pass (no need to refill shuttle!) so no ends to join in!
