Some one asked how to do this and I told them I would make a video of how I do it.
Making a twisted rope on a bookmark
Here is a picture of the bookmark in the video after I added a tassel using the green thread to make the wraps of the tassel:
It was not blocked when I took this picture. I used Lizbeth 20 jellybean and the pattern is my own adaptation of the 'Wave' bookmark by Sandy Scales in Tatted Bookmarks Needle and Shuttle from Handy Hands. I changed the ends and used 2 shuttles.
I hope this helps someone.
Thank you, Rachael, for making the video showing how to make the cord. I appreciate it! I watched the video for making the tassel again and this time I noticed the bookmark... it is lovely! What pattern is it?
Well done, Rachael. Thanks for taking the time to make the video.
Linda the one in the tassel video is the Black Magic Cross. It was one of a set of three that took the first place at the Maricopa County Fair.
Thanks so much for the video on the twisted rope as well at the tassel. I was wondering how to do that.
Thanks Rachael! :)
That is awesome, no matter what I did I couldn't get it to work. I've got to try this. Thank you for another great video!
I so want to learn how to do this. I shall bookmark it for when I need it. Love yours.
Magnificent! You are so wonderful to teach us this technique.
What wonderful videos! I watched them all twice. Thank you.
thank you for this-I have often wondered how this was done!
I've made cord that way for my dollhouse furniture, but never thought of using it for a bookmark. Thank you for the idea!
