Laura has indeed been successful in making perfect tallies , as well as this gorgeouslying clever Cactus. Reminds me of Lindsay Rogers' Tatting Collage style !
Laura & I both tried Warp 4 Cluny Tatting, even though we looped the frame differently. I went on to try Warp 5 tallies . I have shared both tutorials on my blog.
But what you have suggested, is what I called 'padded Cluny Tatting' where all 3 Warps were doubled. I haven't been able to further that trial, but I do think it will be great for 3-or 4- shuttle tatting & encapsulation. It is [#12 in the post]

I love your green tallies in the braid you photographed. Do you plan to use this on a garment? When you use a needle you have a great advantage in packing down the weft threads as you make the passes. KOKO.

Thank you Judith. Yes! I was planning to tat longer the green tallies with burgundy rings to make something for my daughter, but I wasn't sure what. I was thinking of running ribbon in between to make a tiara for her hair. The only problem is that many of the tallies will be hidden under the ribbon, and I'd like to view them all. Maybe I'll try to applique it on one of her favorite hats. I'll post a pic of the project later on :)

How is everyone going with cluny tatting? There were many experiments taking place.
