Craftree Forum Tree > InTatters Forums for Shuttle and Needle Tatting > The 2015 Annual Craftree Tatting Awards - Winners announced!
I am just brimming over with excitement as this - we're just putting the finishing touches on the systems and will be able to open nominations for the 2015 Craftree Tatting Awards very very soon.
There are 14 categories and they are open to anyone who fills the requirements. You can read more about them at our help page - including information on how to make sure that you're eligible to be nominated.
This thread is here for any questions or discussions about the awards.
I think it may be a bit late for this, but I was looking over the categories just now. Most of these specifically single out tatting. and for others it's pretty much implied because tatting is the main focus of the website. One of the nice things about Craftree however is that other crafts are also welcomed (the latest update even had a new 'other craft' checkbox added). Wouldn't it fit this 'tatting focus, but welcome to all' atmosphere to add one specifically non-tatting award? Like a 'best project not tatting'? That might also encourage more people to share their non-tatting projects and patterns here as well.
Of course there's already enough work with the databases, materials and server loads with just the tatting but for me the welcoming of all crafts is why I came to Craftree and I think we should treasure it.
I'm very excited to see the shortlists of awesome stuff the community comes up with!

Great idea, and I've added in a category for best project that is not tatting :)
Then maybe it should read 'The 2015 Annual Craftree Awards' rather than
'The 2015 Annual Craftree Tatting Awards'
I thought about that, but then if there's only really one category that's not tatting at the moment it seems strange to drop the word tatting. I'll change what's easy to change just now.
Jumping up and down with excitement here - we've just opened nominations for the Craftree Awards! You'll see the link to the awards system in the left hand menu.
If you'd like to view the details including all the information on how to be eligible to be nominated and a badge for your blog or website, that is located here.
Looking good! But, ah, the links from that page all seem to trigger a "Forbidden" page... Also the second link from your post above.
Apologies for this, now all links should be accessible. Enjoy the awards!
A reminder, you can nominate as many people as you like for each award, the more the merrier! It also means that you don't have to leave nominations to the last minute, nominate your favourites today and then add more as they are added to Craftree.
Oh, Looks like fun!
Have you nominated your favourite tatting blog for a Craftree Award? Make sure they're in the running to win by nominating them today! http://www.craftree.com/awards/11
Okay, I've nominated a bunch of tatting blogs. I then tried nominating jewellery projects, but I found the list to be pretty sparse. Also, some bookmarks were included! I suppose not enough people have entered their projects in the database, but I'm puzzled about those bookmarks.
Best tatting thread - does it have to be new thread? Also, some threads that I've used aren't yet in the database.
The bookmarks are likely to be using patterns that are listed under bracelet or something else jewellery related (the hearts one is). Threads don't have to be new and if there's any project at all that you've seen somewhere that you think should be included do let the person know or post the details here and I can chase them up!
I'm giving some of the other categories a workout.
Best Project Overall was fun - I set the results to 100 and scrolled through. However, I would like it if I could nominate multiple entries from one page, instead of reloading the page every time. Also, I hit a bug when doing Go to page... when doing 100 results per page.
It also got a bit glitchy when I searched repeatedly on a term, e.g., someone's name. It would work the first time or two, but after that the filter didn't work.
Okay, another glitch - the most popular new paid pattern of all is in the Craftree database, but it doesn't show up in the list of eligible candidates when I search! This one: http://www.craftree.com/patterns/2447
Fixed Corina's pattern - the year had not been entered so that should show up now. We've been working on the system tonight so you might have caught us - but I'll see about keeping the search results there.
Another omission. I wanted to nominate this blog - http://entrelanzaderas.blogspot.sg - but it wasn't in the list.

I've added that one to the catalog now so you should be able to nominate it. Anyone fancy cataloguing all those tutorials? Only 150 so far....
