I have a confession/admission to make. Until I worked on the tiny rings for these motifs I avoided making "true" rings using my needle.. pretty much mock rings only. But I didn't like the way they looked and there were these extra SLT and reverses that messed up the closures and start of the following chain. When I used true rings I had more control over size and tension and could move right to a chain without an intervening tie and the ring would stay tight. I've grown to love them, and its really reversed my thinking -- and practice. ;)

I've always had trouble keeping mock rings closed "tight" - thought it was just me!

wait, how did you escape? all i wanted to do was look at the links. that was hours ago!
The dainties for baby clothes ( https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/142423990 ) is the one i'm trying to get right at the moment. For some reason i can't count this week. (Think we're being hit by the flu bug; hard to concentrate when constantly replacing my tissue walrus.)
I've been trying to figure the patterns out and what is on the page is different from the OCR translation in the side bar. I wonder if someone, in the process of proofing the OCR translation, made corrections or adjustments to the pattern.
I’ve posted off 48 squares.

What brand thread are you using for your size 20? I've done four test tats reducing elements a little each time - my last one is sort of 3cm if you squint and hold your tongue just right! And I like your size 40 version the best still. Do you want me to make a pdf of it to post in the patterns section? It's an elegantly executed pattern despite the frustration trying to get one the right size, I've enjoyed tatting it. :)

And I'm up to 152 squares. My third ball of Lizbeth Pink Parade has turned out to have bad sections at regular intervals and has been exasperating me no end. I may have to give up on using it and switch to one of the solid pink balls I bought(shudder)...

thank you very much for the test :-) Sorry I know that my tatting is tight, the visual pattern is in Flickr: https://flic.kr/p/23iV9P6 , I used Lizbeth size 20 color 100. Short text version is in my blog, direct link is written under the description in Flickr. May I add it to the pattern list myself?
I also tried the Lizbeth size 40 and a sewing thread wound together and the resulted HWT is quite the same as a size 20, a wee bit bigger, I'm trying Cathy's pattern again and Jane's with this thread.

"(shudder)..." - it took me three years of therapy to come to terms with the color pink! :)
in reply to ninetta's post:
Yes, of course, please! Add any of your patterns to the catalog. Thank you!
in reply to ninetta's post:
Absolutely! I wasn't sure how confident you felt with the software and thought I'd offer. I'm really happy to see this one added to the catalog!
https://www.craftree.com/patterns/9674 it is the link for the pattern
I made one Norma B, messed it up tho. Tried to get fancy and use split rings but ended up climbing out and thinking i was on a different picot. Redoing it now... It's the Dainty for Baby square. Thinking about trying to scale back the diamond a little to see if i can make the scale.
Got hit by the plague and can't focus long enough lol trying to sleep away this flu bug.
in reply to ninetta's post:
Thanks, Ninetta! The diagram looks superb.
in reply to squeeky's post:
Oh, no! Please feel better soon. The tatting will still be there when you're ready.
Lilas Joublot has shared another square pattern - 2 versions : http://lilas-lace.fr/blog/2018/01/10/carre-rose/

Thanks for the link! I'll have to give this one a try as well. :)
in reply to Judy's post:
Yay! Becky let me know she's up to seven as well!
When you earburn me, the "ia' in moraih needs to be an 'ai' - very common reinterpretation of this nickname. I shoulda just stuck with Wally,
With all these new pattern choices I’m seriously thinking of tatting a few more....
just need to dig up some more “pink” thread!
in reply to IdahoCanuck's post:
I know! Who knew you could get so many very different patterns squeezed into a 3cm square? I shoulda run an unofficial contest just for that. You're still well in the lead for the prize for most done, but there's still more than two weeks left to the mailing deadline. . May not be a bad idea to widen your lead a bit... ;)
in reply to moraih's post:
Well, when my screen gets blurry I should be enlarging it so I don't make that kind of error. My apologies.
in reply to moraih's post:
I don't really care about the "race", but I just finished a doily that was in the works for over 2 years and I am not really looking forward to starting in on the next large project.....
The little squares right now would be a good relaxing distraction!
