Short update! Just finished Section 4/8 on the last border row. I've been spending the time while I watch a few favorite shows on Hulu, and it's amazing the progress one can make while drooling over Arrow.

Encourages me to pick up my not-so-big doily as well...

Yes- the link would work- I think it is possible to link to an album within craftree too- but google is probably easier for you to manage, and share too. Can't wait to see this progress- a real inspiration.
Okay, so here's the URL for the latest pic of the tablecloth. I finished the border and now, I'm working on the triangles that go between the linen insertions.
If I manage to make one motif every two days, I'll have it done in, er, six months or so.
Edit: My wooden shuttle just broke! Good thing I have more!!! Disaster averted.

You forgot to tell us how large it is now. Four feet across?
Ah! that's right, sorry about that: It is currently 45 inches (3 ft 9 in) or 1.15 meters across.
That is so amazing. How do you keep it looking tidy? If I were working on it, it would be a crumpled mess. Do you just finger block it every so often?
Lynn, actually, It may be the fault of my tight tatting and the #10 crochet cotton. Sometimes I get creative and roll or fold it, but most of the time, I pull out the section that I'm working on where I am sitting for a few moments then just wad it up and throw it back in the bag.
It could use another proper blocking, but the pictures are usually done with me just sorta flattening it with my hand.
Okay, so, I know it's been a while since an update. It's been a busy spring. I'm working on the 40 circles that make up four of the eight triangles of the outer border. I'm doing them together, one row at a time. I've now done 15 of Row #2, only 25 more to go!
In the mean time, I've been working on building a human. She's very busy growing, bouncing, rolling, kicking, and I've been busy working on my house to get everything ready. We did have some tragedy, our dog of two short years finally succumbed to a malignant brain tumor on or near his pituitary, but because we have huge hearts, six days later we welcomed a ridiculous treeing walker coonhound we named Boone from the shelter. Apparently he was picked up as a stray, but how he survived in a world without couches, pillows and laps, we will never know.
So, my lovely friends, tat on! I will update again as soon as I'm finished with this set of rows.

Isn't it about time for your new human to make her debut? Good news about your growing project, but somehow I feel that you'll finish the baby before the tablecloth. Either way, we look forward to photos of both.
Yeah, unless I get hit by dark matter lightning in the next four weeks and become the Lady Flash, I think my tablecloth will take a little bit. I'm about four weeks from the "any minute" time, unless this one wants to be like my son who was a MONTH late. I am really hoping this one decides to come on her own!

Not yet. However the frequent trips to the doc have given me tons of tatting time. I laugh every time I walk into the nonstress test room, and I'm the only one not staring at a phone. I'm 2.5 weeks from my due date now.
:-) I hope you 'go' earlier- I recall the last few weeks being VERY uncomfortable (though that was nearly 10 years ago now...) thinking of you ;)
On Friday, we are hoping to turn her out of breech position. Everything was going very badly with heartburn, until I learned the wonders of Zantac. If she does turn, then it's back to the waiting game. My sister and her friend have sent some lovely knitted shirts and sweaters.

These and the other four triangles must be done before the border for the linen insertions. I'm doing all forty as a group, currently working on row 2/4. These also pack away pretty compactly, the same can't be said for the rest of the table cloth at this stage. Really, though, finishing does not seem that far away at this point.
