Necrothred rises again! Sitting on in-laws' back porch (they overcool their house), and JUST finished triangle 6/8.
And being the genius that I am, I only JUST thought about marking the correct picots with loops of thread so I don't have to check the previous every five seconds, which I will probably do anyway as the circle one skips but I can't ever remember where.
in reply to wodentoad's post:
You're so funny, thanks for making me smile! Go you! Not many more triangles to go now. At least you thought of that before you had finished everything!

So my daughter washed my little ball of black so it spent the night on the swift to dry.
Meanwhile, I am attaching the 6th triangle and the last one with ovals while I make a steamed cake in my kitchen. Just one triangle, the circle one left to go! And you can see where I added thread loops on one side to remind me where to attach this.
It's coming together nicely.
Steamed cake didn't work btw. Ended up just mush, so I will have to figure out where I went wrong.
Swifts have so many uses. I'm about to wash and repurpose some yarn that I frogged from a failed experiment. Couldn't do that without my hand dandy swift.
Someone on one of the facebookpages just posted a photo of a teacloth they want to do from a book,, “Tatting Book #2” published by “House of White Birches”, it sure does look like yours. PS: I referred to craftree, told about a thread with your progress and all the error corrections :)

Can you post a link to the FB page, Mercy? Another tatter may need and/or appreciate support from the tatting community at large.

Thanks, Mercy. I'll have to give this some consideration. Not sure I'm up for joining another FB group right now.
I finally found an inside picture of the book and it seems to be a pamphlet selection of patterns from the same Priscilla book that I have in Clover reprint. So it probably IS the same teacloth. I wish her luck and she is welcome to come here to share her progress! I would follow eagerly! (Which reminds me, I have to get back to work!) I am not on Facebook.
That’s the book that I have, and yes, it is the same Tea Cloth pattern.
Best I can figure, it was an 80s reprint done as a series of pamphlets, before Clover did it.
There’s a copy for sell on ebay right now for $8 + postage if anyone is interested.... it has some other really nice patterns in it also.... including the Victorian Trellis Doily (probably my favorite pattern of all!)
But I paid 6.95(USD) for the whole reprint from Dover. And the book itself is PD--if you want the reprint, it has to be the 1915 edition of Priscilla 2, as the other version doesn't have it.
in reply to wodentoad's post:
I’m not sure what reprint you are talking about......
if you are talking about the ‘House of White Birches No. 2’ .... yes It is complete and has it.
ahhhh.... I see... there are 2 printed versions of the “Pricilla book 2” and only 1 printing has it.
Well.... son of a monkey! I was about to reach halfway on triangle # 7 and then I found the newest mistake....
I did the wrong triangle. It was supposed to be the circle triangle, but I grabbed the oval triangle.
There goes my summer's work. Time to cut back to the last corner and grab the correct triangle.
Oh! Can you hear me groaning with you, clear from the other side of the world? I hope you can find time to work on between mothering, classes, homework.
It shouldn't be too bad to work back. I had only done half the triangle and I have hours on campus this semester as my daughter refuses to leave preschool before 5:30 and my classes end at 11am three days a week. With luck, I should be back on track shortly, though the circle triangle is the fussier one.
in reply to wodentoad's post:
That's not so bad then. I hope your new classes will be interesting!
