I saw the pictures and downloaded them. I put them in a document with whatever helpful hints come from this list. I just wasn't sure which round these written directions were for. Thanks for letting me know.
Part 2 of round 5 has been posted! I wondered what would go between the snowflakes/flowers......(the little connecting bits) are now up on the blog here.....

I finally finished round 4..... round 5 will take me awhile.... but at least it can be done in bits and pieces :) one snowflake/flower at a time.

All of these are lovely. I don't think I would start without something in writing.
Thank you, Anke for the snowflake part in writing. I will try that.
There really are no written instructions for this pattern, right? If I had a diagram and stitch count, I could do this if the stitchcounts are accurate and the diagram is reasonablly easy to see. I'd really like to do this doily and have asked kourica for directions (with no response) so not really certain how to proceed. . .any suggestions? I've tried translating Renulek's written text, but the translations are not making much sense. The pattern really doesn't look terribly difficult if we had a disgram with stitich counts and joins. Have any of you written anything down?
If you print out the pictures on Renulek's blog ( http://renulek.blogspot.com/?m=1 ) they have the stitch count and are very easy to follow... The pictures are very clear and you can even count the stitches in the different elements if you need to... The different elements are basic ring and chain and not difficult. If you do have problems or questions you can post them here and get help... Please feel free to join in and share pics of your progress. We would all love to see different renditions. I think it is neat to see how the pattern changes when done in different color combinations.
woo...that is beautiful idahocanuck...how do you pick your colors?
Well..... Actually this one was kind of by accident.... I had the lavender and green for the center part and ordered some Scottish Thistle to go with it... But when I got the colors together the green was the wrong color and didn't match .... So, I went with the Purple Iris Fusion instead..... Happily, I think it turned out for the best Ü ... Funny how things happen when best laid plans go south.
Its superb Maria. wish I had see your version before embarking on the 4th round in the same combination! I'm almost through round 4. How do I locate round 5?
Aargh. Seriously thinking about cutting off round 2 (which is one motif from finished, but I ran out of thread and I dont want to sew all the ends in again), going to buy another shuttle and trying it this time with 2. I was using the shuttle and ball, which was working fine, but it looks like for round 5 I'm going to have to use 2 shuttles. Unless someone knows of a way to do it shuttle and ball? But the bit I have done so far is really pretty and I'm so close to the end of the round that I'm not sure I want to cut it off and start again.....*sigh* At least study is over, so when I'm done with my current crochet project I can get back to this...
Madhur, your doily is lovely! I love the shade of lavender you are using... And you are almost done with row 4! I thought I would NEVER get through it!
Caytlyn, if you like what you have done, DON'T cut it all off! Wind off enough thread from the ball to finish ( and a little extra to be sure) then refill your shuttle and tie it on.... Then you just tat over the tails 5-6 tight stitches and snip them, then continue on your way..., no 'sewing' in until the very ends when you finish
Progress to November 8th: I actually have only 4 small motifs left of this row and then I can add the connecting bits. I love this process! So much fun and everyone's piece looks so unique. Colour changes the whole feeling of the design.

So pretty, IdahoCanuck!
Looks Terrific Fox! I'm really liking the dark colors Ü. Can't wait to get started on my row 5 of little stars/flowers.
I finally started this and am working on round 2.
Everyone's doilies look wonderful.
Looks great Fox! Have saved this to start as soon as I finish the project I am currently working on.
I just started mine last night. I was so taken with IdahoCanuck's interpretation. I had been looking for something to tat and didn't want to do another snowflake or bookmark. I decided to use DMC ecru, Lizbeth Medium Mocha Brown and Lizbeth Carousel, all in size 20. I have long loved the Carousel, but didn't know what I wanted to do with it. I will post pictures when I have something to show.
My friend just pointed out that in the last round, the negative space creates a heart shape. What nice surprises.

Whew - it is a LOT of tatting! I finished the 5th row of motifs, followed by the tiny bits that separate them.
I was so unsure about adding the green variegated, but the whole purpose of this doily for me has been to use up my stash! None of the colours that I acquired a while ago appeal anymore, in fact I do not even like some of them at all. So, I promised myself I would use them all up . THEN, I might treat myself to new thread! Ah, stash-busting!

Well I do like the little bit of green - makes the little bit of yellow far inside less of an "intrusion".
All the doilies are amazing, and I admire you for tackling such a big piece!
I agree.... And it is a good place to use it. It's kind of like a background element showing off the snowflakes.
I did not notice the hearts, but now that I know they are there they keep drawing my eye! HA!
