Last week week, Thursday, my computer completely died. Been working on restoring data on the new one. I don't have it sorted yet, but we're getting there. Unfortunately, that means no WIPs, and not much of anything else got done this past Wednesday. Maybe next week......
In reorganizing my stash I discovered the medallion iintended as the saddle blanket on the Christmas Camel... Sigh..It looks good yet.. and the pattern was just added to Craftree.
Well, this has been an interesting WIP evening! I got a lot done, but yet I am now farther behind then I was last week! HA!
So after tatting little bits here and there this last week, I was able to complete round 9 of the Renulek spring 2016 doily tonight!! Yeah!!!!,,, . . . . . Oh wait, . . . . . Then suddenly just like that it's all gone, I just cut it all off? . . . .
After I got it all done and was looking at it, . . It just didn't look right. I mean, everything was good and there were no errors.... I had adjusted the stitch count and it was fitting nicely. . . . It just didn't "look right".....
I guess you could say the colors were all wrong for where it fit in the grand scheme of the design.
So snip snip and now I get to do it all again next week!
Grieving with you, Marla. At least next week, you'll have the benefit of this experience, and a better understanding of what you want there.

it's just amazing to me that what took hours and days to tat could be reduced to such a tiny pile of little bits of knotted threads in a matter of a few minutes! I could literally hold all the little bits in a small pinch between thumb & fore finger! I should have taken a picture.....
All us understand that dilemma, Marla. But it doesn't really help when you're the one sitting there holding all the bits, I know.
Wow... you all work much faster than me! But at least I am doing my round on @PattyD's Round Robin doily. The purple thread is really pretty - pictures don't do it justice at all.

If you don't like the look, it will get no respect from you... Just think of it as "cutting your losses", literally. Things will be looking better!

Yes, I know.... it's just that at the time it seemed so absurd, & I actually laughed the whole time I was snipping! I think my DH thought I had gone a bit batty!

I always love your use of colour. A great inspiration to me! So if the colour wasn't right to you, I'm sure it was the right choice. To cut off hours of work though... Very brave!
You know, every time I have to cut something out, it always amazes that there is so little actual substance from so many hours of work. It looks like so much more before I cut it off.
Reaching the end of WIP Wednesday on this side of the world. Worked two inches on first one of another pair of socks. Time to start the heel. Another sweet tomato heel for me. Love they way they fit my high arched feet.
I tatted on the bus today. Am closing in on the end of my round for Round Robin Doily #3!
Expecting guests, painted a cabinet and prepared the house, but still tatted a few inches of round 10 spring doily.
I only tried to figure out colour choices for the next couple rounds of my Renulek doily, and only got myself in bigger doubt
I finished round 9 of Renulek's 2016 Spring Doily!!!!! Thought I'd never get through that one! I think I've just been in a tatting funk and hope it's finally passed. on to round 10!
On Wednesday, I finished the 2nd wing of the butterfly I have been working on. In an effort to try to get it to lay flat more easily than the 1st, I adjusted the stitch count on the block tatting. The good news is that it worked The bad news is that could only mean one thing for the last round of the first wing So yesterday...snip!
How I once started to learn Shyrdak-making.... Unfortunately not with self-felted fabric...
I am very fascinated by shyrdaks and Kirghizistan.
And this is the "My favourite things scarf" from Pinterest. Last year I finally learned Fair Isle knitting with both hands. Nevertheless,it is REALLY bulky.
It's my last week in Germany for the summer so I spent the day doing some last minute shopping for "essentials"
Worked on two pairs of socks. Also sorted and scanned many photos to create a power point for my son's wedding. That will be 4 September. After that I'll find something to do only on Wednesdays, since socks happen every time I get on a bus.
Enjoy your final days, and have a safe trip back.
Today I did a shuttle cleanse, getting them ready for new projects. That included scrapping one edging that was never going to be finished, and completing a rose medalion for a necklace. Last on my to do list for the day will be to finish a square coaster!
Now that I'm down to needing to do just one more hanky edging...... Among all my other projects..... I volunteered to do 2 more! I think the WIP Wednesday thingy is working in reverse for me!
