Newest bookmarks and motifs finished. Most ends sewn under caps, MUCH use of the larks head picot join as variegated thread was usually used.
Very nice! Haven't tried the LHJ yet...really should! Can you share the pattern for the bookmark you did with the Latte Foam?

The Latte Foam bookmark is based on Julia E. Sanders "Tatting Patterns" Fig 16 Trimming with her pattern on page 5. I make the small rings based on a 4 x 4 ring, which can be 4+4-4-4, 8-4-4, 4+4-8 or some combination depending on where it is in the cluster. The small chains are 4 ds, the longer chains are (4-8-8 )+to tip of last ring in cluster OR ( 4 + 8 - 8 ) + ( 8 - 8 - 4) depending on whether joins are needed. The second side has joins to the opposite chains between the 8s. The top and bottom chains are 4+ 8 (or 8 - 4), and the top and bottom rings are 4 + 16 - 4.
A similar design is found http://www.etsy.com/listing/104219743/tatted-lace-bookmark-by-jan-amethyst? and attributed to Mary Konior, but I have all 4 MK books and can't find anything like this in her work. The inversion of the design is also nice and found at http://www.etsy.com/transaction/105468836? and here in my album Glad you like them!
Thanks! I put "directions" for that one in the comments section under the picture in the album. I made another one with Jess!'s aurora thread, but I think I like the look of the true solid or the monochrome transitions (foam latte) better.
Exquisite! I love all of them (including the little butterfly in purple 
). The bookmark that jumped out at me, though, was the pink one on the left, with the five-petalled flowers. Could you tell us more about that one?
That one is the base of a cross in Sharon Briggs' Crosses http://www.rsbriggs.com/slb/books/index.html with lots of the picots removed. She did it in white on her cover. That book is actually really nice for both its crosses and for using the bottom of the cross as a strip bookmark.
Ah, I couldn't make it out from the little picture of the book on Sharon Briggs' website. I'll have to keep it in mind!
They are all so beautiful. I especially like the beige colored one in the middle. Not sure if there is a name for it, or if there is a pattern someplace, but I would love to make one someday. I am new to tatting, so I am sure it will be awhile before I post something as pretty as these.
Post #5 in this thread has a semi-description of the pattern. It is actually pretty easy, since the rings are all the same size. If you want more description, I can scan the diagram I used (but the actual picture is probably nicer!).
I would love to see a copy of the diagram if it isn't too much trouble. I blew up your photograph and it got a bit blurry by the time I got it to the size my eyes wanted it to be, LOL.

I was so excited about this pattern that I had to start it tonight! I work better from diagrams - so I made one and thought I'd share it with all of you.

Susiearnholt's Latte Foam Book Mark diagramed by SarahWood8. This is in Lizbeth size 20 mocha Brown Dk and Haleyon Yarn 10/2 Pearl Cotton. Love this light brown's sheen, it is very soft though but retrotatted nicely as long as I was careful. I did NOT use the LHP join but do like this bookmark.

Very pretty! Ah, that's a way to avoid the LHPJ — choose threads so that all joins are between like colours.
Thank you Carol and Grace. I like varigated, but sometimes, for me, a pattern asks for solids :) . I should learn the LHPJ for varigated but usually just try to make all the blips on one side. This pattern is one I intend to use for my male gifts :)
Oh - goodie! Great work! That turned out beautifully. I think I'm going to do it with brown rings and green chains. The shapes just remind me of little trees : )
