Just wondering - are you close enough to the finish to call your travelling pieces back home? If you want to, of course. Otherwise they could be "honoured guests" when they finally complete their travels...

Had a peek at your shop - it's fun! And Sculpey dragons are a lot more lucrative than tatting. Do you have to fire Sculpey in a kiln?
Sculpey is a polymer clay so it can be fired in my home oven, at 270f/135c. My tatting is for gifts, I couldn't charge what it's worth to me.
I just got more sculpey, so I am adding new dragons all the time. Today's is my tribute to 2020.

Yeah, I'm the same - I give away my tatting because there's no way to charge what it's worth...

Your dragons are really cute! Best of luck finishing strong, no matter if those two pieces arrive in time or not.
Okay! I'm sure everyone thought I had forgotten, in reality, some of my supplies got misplaced in the move and I am still missing my favorite shuttle. I found enough to keep going, using a modified Aerlit, and have switched over from the Starlight Doily back to this one. I still need to get the inserts done, but I'm at a point where I may do it myself. I have a rolling hem presser foot for my sewing machine, so I just have to get the material.
In the meantime, I found my ring of final motifs, so I'm putting the next to last rows of tatting on them, and I'll use the final row to join them to the tea cloth. Chugging on!
There's still a way to go, and two motifs lost somewhere in the world!
Nearly had a heart attack when I read back the directions, which defined joining every 7th picot, but ALL of the photos showed 5 free picots on the second row between the joined picots. That would be SIXTH. whew

Lacy II is on it's way to Edinburgh. DH did not track so I don't know exactly where it is right now. Our post office said it should go thru.
Good to know. I am trying to find more time, it has been a stressful month (kids, school, 2020), so I have fallen off.

I think we can give you a pass for this year, Erin. The whole world has "fallen off".
I know it feels 3 steps forward, 2 steps back, but you've made so much progress on this. And it's going to be such a beautiful heirloom piece for your family to treasure. We're all rooting for you!

This has been a very stressful year, so no wonder you (and I) feel like that! You're doing great, and you're nearly there!
My best wishes for the l-o-n-g home run, Erin. It's been an interesting journey, especially with your studies as well.
Thanks, everyone! I'm getting the final rows on Lacey's many sisters, and I think next month or after the new year I will head to the local quilting store for fabric, probably a plain white cotton, but I have to figure out how much, which will require drawing out the pattern, and I'll have to practice with my hem rolling foot.
Sounds like a plan, Erin. You're so close to done. The band should be tuning up by now for the big celebration.
You know that moment when you've checked and done everything perfectly?
Well, (expletive deleted).
I have two of them, and I don't think I can detangle them without scissors.
Monkey muffler.
(The expletive I use around my daughter.)
Then let's thank God for scissors and the wit to use them.
Still, I'm so sorry. It's not a lot of work to redo, but at this point, you could probably kick yourself. I know I would.
Oh - so sorry for that! But I know you'll overcome this setback!
It looks like all I will need to deconstruct is the three connection points to the central flower, between the twists. This will be easier than trying to rework the two rows from the actual twist. For the life of me I can't think how it would have happened! Ah well, I think I will continue working on the last motifs before I fix it, so the last rows are ready to go once the cloth is done.

I haven't heard that Kristi received Lacy II yet. Hope all is well there.

International mail is really S-L-O-W. It's taking more than a month for just a letter to get from Hong Kong to the States. Patience. That's a virtue I rarely feel I have enough of.
