I was so unsure about adding the green variegated, but the whole purpose of this doily for me has been to use up my stash! None of the colours that I acquired a while ago appeal anymore, in fact I do not even like some of them at all. So, I promised myself I would use them all up . THEN, I might treat myself to new thread! Ah, stash-busting!

Caytlyn, if you like what you have done, DON'T cut it all off! Wind off enough thread from the ball to finish ( and a little extra to be sure) then refill your shuttle and tie it on.... Then you just tat over the tails 5-6 tight stitches and snip them, then continue on your way..., no 'sewing' in until the very ends when you finish
Hi Madhur...somebody metioned 18 rounds....that is why I'm still weighting my options of jumping in...tempting-tempting....just a BIG decision to start-or-not- to start...that is a question....love the look of all the versions that I have seen so far....great job everyone....very inspirational....
The last one she did was 18 rounds.... This one may not be so many beings how some of the round are so large.... But then only Renulek knows what is to come Ü.
Madhur, I'm glad you were inspired enough to join in.... The more the merrier!
Tattalittle, you can always start in and just do it as far as you want. If you only want to do the first 4-5 rounds that would be great to as it would still make a nice doily.... And you can take as long as you like as there are no deadlines. That is the great thing about it. I have all 18 rounds of her last tat-a-long filed away and hope to get to it at a later date when I have more time.
I am also tatting the 2011 Renulek’s 'Honey Napkin’’ while I wait for the next round of the ‘Snowflake' to appear on Renulek’s blog; it is the one with 18 rounds! So, timing doe snot matter a oot!
i say, go for it, tattalittle! There is no pressure and the rows are straightforward and soothing to tat - not stressful and quite simple. You can finish anytime you choose! And -r use any colour in your stash - look at mine - weird colouts and I am using up my old threads! No down side.

Well, I joined in the fray. I'm working on row 4 now. I had to change up what I had planned to do. When I began working with the Lizbeth Carousel, it just didn't look right with the ecru and medium mocha brown. So, I just continued with the two colors. It is going to take me a while to get all the way around this 4th row.

So glad to have you join in Elfiona Ü. Your doily looks lovely. I love the subtleness of the colors. I thought I would never get around row 4 .... But row 5 is taking me even longer. But it is an effort well worth it when you get there!
I have just started this doily i am on row2 but i hope to catch up some well after reading this whole post i am back to just row 1 being done i did the rings with 1 ds between each picot the picture from her blog dont say. It is hard to cut off 3/4 of a row.
Thanks for the compliments, IdahoCanuck, Carolivy and Foxtats. The bit that I started, but is not going to be part of the tat-a-long, I'm going to complete to make a circle (later). When it is done, I will decide if it needs a center or not. = )
It would be pretty with a linen center.... Of a nice pastel color to match the thread. Ü
It definitely looks much nicer in the same ecru and mocha colors. Very elegant!! (Definitely going to try this one when I get home!)
I finally finished row 5! I have to say that I didn't really like doing all the separate bits and parts (lots of little ends to sew in) but the end result was worth it..... now to wait for the next installment!
I actually changed the stitch count in the little green 'leafs'.... with the outer chains being 6+6 .... It felt to tight for the space I had between flowers so I went with 8+8 and It seemed to fit just right.... I think I tatted my flowers tighter than others have... making them a little smaller?

It is so beautiful. Can't wait to start on mine own. I am working on Yon's tatalong at the moment then working on some snowflakes, so probably won't be until next year.
I already left a comment on the album link, but this is so wonderful I will leave yet another! LOVE your colour choices. The purples, pinks and green shades are sensational! Great tatting, IdahoCanuck!
