Hello
I'm new here, but I am tatting this doily with you :)
Renulek wrote, that she thought it is the last row, but she changes her mind and it'll be one more.
Great!
Thank you Jukona for the translation. I try to use Google translate and it is very imperfect. I can usually get the gist of what she means, but I know I'm also missing a lot. = )
Yes, thank you Jukona. I'm very glad she changed her mind. Personally, I don't think it looks finished with that row as the last one.
For me, I think it is done without the last row. I have no more thread in any of the colours I used and the variegated one I have that I thought would be terrific (vineyard something by Lizbeth) looks awful!
Also, with the added row, my piece loses the kind of pointy border that I quite like. So, it seems, I'm finished!

OMG! i was just looking at her picture and I realize I have been doing the 6th row all wrong. I joined the 6th row on every other motif not like her pattern. boo hoo, I think I have to take it all out and redo the whole thing again. I am at half way. sad...sad...sad...
Cracytatter, if it looks good and is still flat, leave it. You just "adjusted" the pattern a bit, it is not wrong.
Oooh. Crazytatter, i feel your pain! i had to cut a few rows off when I was near the end and it hurts!
Susan is right: it is not wrong if it works, but I wanted to tat the thing as was intended, so snip, snip! If you are obsessed/OCD, like moi, I suspect you will do the same. Either way, it will be lovely. : ))

I started this a while ago, but have been making slow progress. My kids have decided that it's going to their Babcia, which given the colors of Red and White seems appropriate. The snowflakes are white while the small inter-motifs are red. My threads aren't exactly matched in size it turns out, so there is a little wrinkling, but nothing too serious.

First version: Row 5 (with the flower and small motiv) was so much cupping that it disturb the round motiv. I think the DMC 80 I used for row 4 is guilty. I made row 1-2-3 with Lizbeth. I will cut row 5 from the first version and let it. It is a nice doily.
So I started again with only Lizbeth. I shorted in row 4 the chains insite and outsite a little bit and it worked. I'm now again busy with row 5 and I think it is okay now. I will drop pictures of version 2.
Row 8 has been posted! It is a very simple row and should go very quickly. Which is good for me, since I have been taking a very long time to get through the snowflake round. She says that there will be a Row 9 and that she thinks it will be the last row (barring changes of mind). = )
Oh My! I haven't even started the last row yet.... I have had to sit out for a bit and now it looks like I have fallen behind....
Where did you find row 8? Unfortunately I cannot translate her site...and just have to search by pictures.
Nevermind...I found it...
Nevermind...I found it...
for anyone else having trouble finding row 8...

Stunning!
A casual look at Renulek's picture of Row 8 makes me wonder if it will cup. But others will know more about this than me...
She does say there is another row, so we will have to wait and see.
I'm still stuck on Row 5. I had to make some adjustments on the small insert between the snowflakes and it is still cupping. I will have to cut out what I have done and readjust again.
Sherry, I had to do the same thing with my row 5... I ended up just making the small inserts just a little bigger by increasing the stitch count on the outer chains. I hope you get them to work out for you. :)
I am going to have to order more thread before I can progress any further.... Drat!
I have stumbled on a remedy for what I thought was a finished piece, as I do not have enough thread in the colours I chose to finish. By accident I saw a ball of lilac and thought... hmmm..... so I tried it. Might just do the trick for the last three rows.
